Exchange, inspiration and new impetus
The Kirche.GEO.IT forum took place in Erfurt from May 5 to 8, 2025 – and it was more than just an event. It was a place for exchange, inspiration and the joint further development of our ISIDOR community.

New structure, new perspectives
This year, we split the event days thematically – an experiment that paid off. The targeted focus on individual topics allowed for more in-depth discussions and more room for exchange. The feedback in the Mentimeter survey was consistently positive: the new structure was well received!

Highlights from the community
The presentations were very well received overall. The sessions on the job plan that can be derived directly from ISIDOR and on ORGNIZE were particularly well received – two topics that have obviously struck a chord with the times.

But the real highlight for many was something else – the exchange. This one word came up again and again in the personal feedback – and probably best describes what the forum is all about. The open dialog, learning from each other, thinking ahead together.

Resolutions and changes
A lot has also happened in terms of content: the community has provided new impetus and passed important resolutions. All members of the ISIDOR community can find more details on this in the protected area under “Archive of meeting minutes”.

New and familiar faces in the speaker team
At the end of the forum, the new community speakers were elected. Tina Huppmann (Diocese of Fulda) was re-elected as spokesperson. New to the team is Dr. Maria Michelangeli (Archdiocese of Freiburg), who is taking on this role for the first time. We are very much looking forward to working together!

A big thank you goes to Martina Wergin (Archdiocese of Hamburg), who has shown great commitment as spokesperson and is now passing on the baton.

The term of office was increased from an annual cycle to 3 years.

The Kirche.GEO.IT 2025 forum was a complete success – not only because of the content, but above all because of the people who shaped it. We are already looking forward to the next one!
