EKD digitizes funding processes of the Protestant School Foundation with ISIDOR
The Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) is introducing the ISIDOR software solution for its school foundation as part of an implementation project. The aim of the project is to digitalize and centralize the foundation’s funding processes.
The Protestant School Foundation was founded in 1994. It is a charitable foundation that supports the Protestant school system in Germany. In the early years, the focus was primarily on start-up funding for new school projects. Today, the foundation concentrates more on thematic funding programs.
The current funding priorities include in particular
- Development and strengthening of the Protestant school profile
- Promoting inclusion in education
- Projects on responsibility towards creation
- Social responsibility and humanity
Digitization of application and funding processes
With the introduction of ISIDOR, the Evangelische Schulstiftung is digitizing its entire application process. The processes, some of which were previously distributed, will be merged into a central software platform.
ISIDOR provides several existing modules for this purpose:
- People module: Management of the persons involved and contact persons
- School module: Management of Protestant schools and institutions
- Project module: Processing of project applications, funding decisions and project documentation
All relevant EKD data can thus be managed and analyzed in one system.
Transparency about the Protestant school landscape
Another aim of the introduction of ISIDOR is to provide a better overview of the Protestant educational landscape in Germany.
The plans include:
- a public geographical overview of Protestant schools
- Internal geographical analyses of funding projects and grants
- Improved documentation of funding decisions
- Simplification of administrative and application processes
Digitalization makes both the application process and internal processing more efficient and transparent.
New web application for digital funding applications
Westernacher Solutions is developing a new web application for the digital application process. This application enables applicants to submit funding applications online.
The web application will:
- Record all relevant project information in a structured manner
- Guiding applicants through the application process
- transfer the recorded data directly to the ISIDOR project module
This avoids media disruptions and the project data is immediately available in the central system for further processing.
